NTCC students win gold at state SkillsUSA event

A trio of students from Northshore Technical Community College recently captured gold medals at the Louisiana State SkillsUSA Competition, held in Lake Charles.

Jamaica Young won gold for early childhood. Samantha Jinnah is a gold medalist for practical nursing medical math. Brock Gerald won a gold medal for information technology services.

All gold medalists, along with their advisor, will travel to Louisville, Ky. during the week of June 24-29 to compete in the National SkillsUSA Competition. The NTCC students will compete against other gold medalists from every state in the union and U.S. territories.

Northshore Technical Community College has a variety of programs to prepare citizens for the workforce, including Information Technology, Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration, Building Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Pharmacy Tech, Patient Care Technician, Practical Nursing, Industrial Electrician, Business Office Administration, Welding and Diesel Equipment Technology. Adult Education is also available for GED/HISET.
