Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Haley said Wednesday morning that a Washington Parish man was arrested on Tuesday and jailed for indecent behavior with a juvenile and false imprisonment.

Haley said that WPSO Det. Raymond Myers followed up on a complaint from the juvenile victim’s mother, and conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of Frank E. Schwegmann, 78, a resident of Seal Road in Varnado. As of Wednesday morning, Schwegmann remained in jail with no bond set at the time.

Due to the very sensitive nature of this crime involving a juvenile, no more information will be released, Haley said.

“It is always distressing and disturbing to learn of such behavior with a juvenile,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “I am pleased Detective Myers was able to sort out the details of this matter and make the arrest.”
