Convicted Sex Offender Arrested for Child Pornography

BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced the arrest of a convicted sex offender from Washington Parish on multiple charges of internet crimes against children.
“My Cyber Crime Unit and I work tirelessly to find and apprehend criminals who produce, posses, or distribute sexual abuse images and videos of children,” said General Landry. “We will not cease in our efforts to protect children and make our communities safer.”
Angel Monjure, 62 of Franklinton, was arrested on 25 counts of possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children. Monjure is a convicted sex offender who was given a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender. He was arrested and booked into the Washington Parish Jail following a joint investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit and the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
