Charles Brumfield

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves save those you are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers them from them all” (Psalm 34:18-19).

Charles E. Brumfield of Houston, Texas, was born Nov. 28, 1951, and made his Transition to his Heavenly Home on May 22, 2018. He was a native of Bogalusa, and was born to the parents of Virgil and Iola Brumfield of Bogalusa.

He was a graduate of Central Memorial High School, Class of 1969, and went on to serve eight years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He served as a Supervisor for the City of Houston Maintenance/Water Department for 20 years, and later retired.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Virgil and Iola Brumfield, and brother, Barry C. Brumfield.

He leaves a wife, Terry Brumfield of Houston, and to cherish his memory a brother, Larry C. Brumfield of Bogalusa; a beloved sister, Rosetta (Clifton) Brown of Missouri City, Texas; two daughters, Berrica D. Brice of Missouri City, and Keashea (Reginald) Walker-Brown of Nashville, Tenn.; and a son, Mister S. Brumfield of New York.

He also leaves grandchildren, Skyler Stewart, Kalee Brice, Xavier McClendon, and Marc Walker; nephews, Luciane R. Brown, Clifton Brown Jr., and Reginald (Desiree) Brumfield; nieces, Toyanica Burris, Candice Brumfield, Jasmine Riley, and Kourtney Brumfield; great-grandchildren, Kamden Branch and Ariyanna McClendon; and a host of friends and cousins.

We, the family of our beloved father, brother, cousin and friend, would like to sincerely thank you for all of your calls and prayers and sincere condolences through social media.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church family life center from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
