My suffering is over and all the pain and loneliness is gone. My date was set a long time ago and only the Lord knew, my life is a memory now and all that I could leave to my children, my family and all who knew me. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. (Rev. 21:4)

Sister Velma B. Magee was born to the late Harrison Brumfield and Rosetta Brumfield of Tylertown, Miss., on June 17, 1927. She departed this life on May 23, 2018, at her residence in Bogalusa at the age of 91.

Sister Velma B. Magee was united in holy matrimony to L.E. Magee for 45 years. To this union, eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. Magee; and two sons, Burnell and Louis Magee; and one daughter, Linda Magee Leve.

Sister Velma B. Magee joined St. John Temple Church of God in Christ many years ago under the leadership of the late Bishop John W. White. She also served under Pastor Bobby Ray Brown until her health failed.
