Arkansas man arrested for rape, sent to parish jail

Franklinton Police Department officials announced Monday that an Arkansas man was recently arrested in connection with an alleged rape. He was then extradited and transported to the Washington Parish Jail.

According to the FPD, on Friday, following a lengthy investigation by the FPD, detectives arrested Clyde W. Williams of Monette, Ark. Williams was charged with first-degree rape and sexual battery.

Williams was extradited from Jonesboro, Ark., and after booking, was transported to the Washington Parish Jail. Bond was set at $635,000.

Due to the age of the victim, additional information is being withheld, FPD officials said.
