Gene Hayman, director of the Bogalusa Help Center that benefitted from Saturday’s Letter Carriers Food Drive, said the Help Center received about 7,000 pounds in food donations and some cash.

“Thanks to all the folks who contributed food and cash on Saturday,” Hayman said. “It was very much appreciated. We received about the same as last year — about 7,000 pounds of assorted canned and packaged foods. The postal workers thoroughly enjoyed the extra work on their routes with smiles, as they unloaded at the Help Center. Many folks will be blessed with extra meals.”
