A 19-year-old from Bogalusa was among four suspects arrested in Mandeville last week for illegally discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle.

According to information from the Mandeville Police Department, the incident began when police were called to investigate a “report of gunshots in the area of the 900 block of Montgomery Street” in Mandeville.

The MPD said that officers were able to get a description of a vehicle, which had fled the scene. While MPD officers were searching for that vehicle, gunshots were reportedly heard a few blocks away.

Police were able to locate the vehicle as it was leaving the area where police heard the second set of gunshots, MPD officials said.

According to the MPD, officers stopped and searched the vehicle, at which point they found “spent shell casings inside of and on the exterior windshield of the vehicle.”

One of the suspects reportedly admitted to throwing the gun out the window prior to the police stop.

Those arrested were Rian Gates, 19, of Ave. D in Bogalusa; Trace Moore, 19, of Mandeville; Dominick Sharp, 18, of Mandeville; and a 15-year-old juvenile female.

The four suspects were booked and charged with illegally discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle.
