Vincent Lawrence “Larry” Libert, Jr., passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the age of 74. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Vincent Lawrence Libert, Sr. and Evelyn Smith Libert; his wife, Beverly Williams Libert; and his sister, Mary Lou Libert Martin. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Hayden Libert, his daughter, Cheri Libert Thomas; his sons: Vincent Lawrence Libert, III and Randall Joel Kennedy, III; step-son: Michael Gregory Chiasson; step-daughters: Valerie Chiasson Carpenter and Catherine “Katie” Chiasson Walston; sisters: Betty Portera and Angela Libert Moll; grandchildren Savannah Shae-Lyn Kennedy, Miranda Liegh-Ann Kennedy, Ashley Chiasson Chugden, Nicholas Richard Chiasson, Michael James Chiasson, Amanda Couvillion Williams, Emily Nicole Carpenter, Gregory Ross Chiasson, Alex Hannan Chiasson, Shelby Melissa Chiasson, Suzanna Marie Walston, Alexandra Michelle Walston and Randall Dalton Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Braiden Sean Chugden, Landon David Chugden, Oliva Marie Williams, Elijah Russell Williams, Carter Michael Chiasson, Madden James Chiasson, Ollie Lynn Kennedy, Ry’Leigh Nicole Latham and Molly Devillier-Chiasson and numerous nieces, nephews and close family and friends. Larry was a native of Washington Parish and resided in Mandeville, La. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, worked as a Craft Labor Supervisor for Siemens Generations Services and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Covington where he was a regular attendee of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast and Pray Band, the Celebration Singers Choir and the Vacation Bible School. He will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Louisiana Highway 1085, Covington, La. 70433. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Larry to be made to the First Baptist Church of Covington’s Benevolent Fund.
