On Thursday, three Washington Parish deputy sheriffs graduated from the Louisiana Peace Officer Standards Training Council Academy in Slidell.
Each of the deputies completed a demanding 14-week course that included instruction on various subjects related to law enforcement, including Louisiana law and firearms certification. The practical instruction prepares an officer for managing the daily duties of law enforcement in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
Successfully completing all training requirements were Deputy Kenneth Doby Jr., Deputy Patrick Tomberlin and Deputy Richard Serigne.
Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal attended the graduation ceremony and presented diplomas to graduating Washington Parish deputies.
“This is a very difficult academy and I congratulate each of our fine deputies for successfully meeting all of the requirements,” Seal said. “These are good men and I look forward to continue working with them.”
