The Bogalusa Police Department recently arrested a woman in connection with a gun-shooting incident, according to Maj. Percy Knight of the BPD.

Knight said that on Tuesday, April 17, at 6:03 p.m., BPD officers responded to the 500 block of Avenue H, in reference to a call about gunshots being fired.

“Upon the officer’s arrival, the female victim stated that the suspect drove to her residence and started a confrontation,” Knight said. “The suspect stayed in the vehicle, pointed a pistol and fired one shot at the victim, who was standing approximately 20 feet away.  The victim ran inside her residence and escaped injury.”

Knight said that the victim had previously filed a protective order against the suspect, who was identified as Alexandria Brown, 26, of Bogalusa.

“A search warrant was obtained on the residence of Alexandria Brown,” Knight said. “During the execution of the search warrant, BPD officers located Brown hiding in a bedroom of the residence.”

Brown was placed under arrest and booked on the charges of assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of weapons/aggravated assault, and violation of a protective order.
