Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette was delighted.

“In the Cleanest City contest, the city of Bogalusa won district against seven cities,” she said. “We will compete in state competition on Thursday, April 26. We are excited about our opportunity to not only compete against cities in our district, but now across the state.

“From top to bottom we at the city of Bogalusa, along with community, have worked hard to reach this goal to restore pride in our city. This is an accomplishment we can all be proud of.”

Perrette asks that citizens do what they can to keep the city tidy through April 26. She said the judges are due to arrive at 10 a.m.
