Andrew deLeon Sr.

Andrew H. deLeon Sr., went to be with our Lord on April 13, 2018, at the age of 96. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and afterwards was employed at the Bogalusa Box Plant for 35 years. After retirement he stayed busy keeping up his yard and helped at the Bogalusa Help Center for many years. He was also a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Alice D. deLeon; a son Andrew H. deLeon Jr. and wife Linda C. deLeon; grandchildren Melissa (David) Crain, Kevin E. (Amanda) deLeon, and Bradford A. (Laynette) deLeon; great grandchildren David Crain, Emilia Tschen, Cecilia Tschen and special nieces Marguerite (Wade) Adams and Linda (Owen) Booth.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew M. and Amelia deLeon; a brother, Earl Barton; and a sister, Evlyn Bourq.

Visitation was Monday, April 16, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, beginning at 11 a.m. and remaining open until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Deacon Ed Kelly will officiate the service and interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the American Legion Magic City Post #24.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church or the Bogalusa Help Center.
