The Magic City Firefighters Auxiliary’s “craft and music showcase,” which had been scheduled for Saturday, April 14, at Cassidy Park, has been cancelled.

Organizers said that they were concerned about the weather.

“As we are sure you know, the weather is going to be very bad tomorrow,” Auxiliary members posted Friday on the group’s Facebook page. “In light of that, we decided to cancel. Public safety was our No. 1 concern. The predictions for severe wind and thunderstorms are daunting.

“We have agonized over this decision for days; it was not made lightly. We are sorry.”

Organizers said they are already in the planning stages of another event in the near future.

“We truly hope we will be able to have your support again,” the Auxilary posted on Facebook.
