Charles Ray Johnson

Charles Ray “Tiddy Head” Johnson was born June 5, 1949, and transitioned on Monday, March 19, 2018, at the age of 68, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born and raised in Bogalusa, he was the son of the late Joe Johnson Sr. and Ora Lee Brumfield. He was the third of eight children.

Charles Ray was a graduate of Central Memorial High School’s class of 1969. He enlisted in the U.S. Army for approximately two years over the course of service to our country. Charles was stationed in Vietnam before setting back in Bogalusa.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 31, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa at noon, with the Rev. Charlie Parker Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Gail Crumedy Johnson; two daughters, Jashon Johnson and Tameca Johnson; his first wife, Freddie Mae Johnson Sanders; four sisters, Jamie Lee Peters, Gilda Bell, Barbara (Ron) Felice and Rose (Eddie) Adams; one brother, Willie Ray Johnson; sister-in-law, Mary Brumfield. He also leaves to mourn his passing two great-great-grandchildren, a set of twins, Little Nichols Winston and Little Miss Na’Shira Winston; god-daughter, Khamika Sowell; grandchildren, Ja’derrica Johnson, Ja’cynthia Bickham, Jaisis Bickham, Clariona Foxworth, Ar’Nasiyah Fortenberry, Makayla Mark, and Ken’Daven and Ken’Jren Pigott; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Ora Lee Brumfield) Johnson; and two brothers, Joe and Lovell Johnson.
