On Thursday, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to locate and arrest a Washington Parish man who is wanted by Walthall County, Miss., for a drive-by shooting in that county, according to WPSO Chief Deputy Mike Haley.

Haley said that detectives arrested Shaun Dale Warren, 37, a resident of Sundance Lane in Franklinton. Warren was placed in the Washington Parish Jail as a fugitive from Walthall County and will remain in the jail with no bond until extradited by Walthall County.

Warren has been in the Washington Parish Jail on two previous occasions, Haley said. In August of 2014, he spent six days in the jail for simple battery before posting a $500 bond for his release. In July of 2017, he was arrested on charges of home invasion, domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse child endangerment and aggravated battery. He remained in the Washington Parish Jail for over four months before being released on $153,500 bond.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal spoke of the partnership with Walthall County law enforcement.

“We work closely with Walthall County and other surrounding counties to solve crimes and apprehend criminals,” Seal said. “It is a good working relationship, which enables our agencies to pool resources as we work to make our communities safer for law abiding citizens.

“We appreciate the hard work of Sheriff Breland and his officers in Walthall County and are pleased to assist them whenever we can, knowing that they always stand ready to assist us.”
