The Robert “Bob” Hicks Foundation of Bogalusa will hold a press conference Tuesday, March 20, at 10 a.m. to make a significant announcement regarding the National Park Service and the African-American history museum to be built at the old home of late civil rights leader Robert “Bob” Hicks, the foundation announced Wednesday.

The press conference will take place in front of the future museum, located at 924 E. Robert “Bob” Hicks St., which already has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hicks’ widow, Valeria, other family members, and citizens, including those involved in the civil rights movement, plan to attend. State and local dignitaries, including Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette, also plan to attend the event.

The announcement will have a major impact on the city of Bogalusa for generations to come, foundation officials said.
