Rose Gann

Rose Marie Corley Gann, 82, born July 1, 1935, passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Bogalusa, she was a cherished and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many in the community. An active member of First Baptist Church, she also participated in Civic League and Eastern Star, and remained an enthusiastic volunteer at Rest Haven up to the time of her death.

Survivors include her son, James Earl Gann Jr. of Baton Rouge; daughter, Melinda Gann Hall and son-in-law Tony Duce of Birmingham, Mich.; son, Robert Edwin Gann Sr. and daughter-in-law Brenda of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Amber Hall Price and husband Joseph, Jonathan Cody Gann, and Robert Edwin Gann Jr.; great-grandchildren, Henry and Fiona Price; and many other family members and friends, especially her former colleagues at the Department of Children and Family Services.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edna Earl and Roscoe (Jack) Corley; brother, Jack Corley; husband, James Earl Gann Sr., and daughter, Melanie Kay Gann.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 8, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will continue at First Baptist Church in Bogalusa on Friday, March 9, at 9 a.m. and will continue until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
