On Wednesday, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Louisiana State Police, Bogalusa Police Department and Franklinton Police Department conducted a sweep across Washington Parish to arrest eight suspected drug dealers.

Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the WPSO said that the eight arrested Wednesday join six other alleged drug dealers who were arrested in previous weeks. All of the arrests came through a joint investigation by the various agencies.

Arrested Wednesday were:

• Thomas Lavelle Davis, 36, a resident of Highway 21 in Angie. Davis is charged with distribution of heroin and contempt of court. His bond has been set at $200,300. Davis has a history of drug arrests in Washington Parish dating back to 2006.
• Jamella Fleming, 52, a resident of Greenlaw Avenue in Franklinton. Fleming is charged with distribution of Schedule II drugs and violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance law in a drug-free zone. Bond has not been set at this time. Fleming has a history of drug arrests in Washington Parish dating back to 2006.
• Kenneth Keys, 31, a resident of Foots Harry Road in Angie. Keys is charged with conspiracy to possess narcotics with intent to distribute. Bond has not been set at this time. Keys has two previous drug arrests in 2007 and 2009.
• Juan DeJesus Magee, 35, a resident of Anthony Road in Franklinton. Magee is charged with manufacture of Schedule I drugs and his bond has been set at $200,500. Magee has three previous drug arrests dating back to 2011.
• Kakawana James Magee, 20, a resident of Blueberry Court in Franklinton. Magee is charged with distribution of a legend drug and conspiracy to possess narcotics with the intent to distribute. Bond has not been set at this time. Magee has a previous drug arrest in 2016.
• Jumarcus Cordell Palmer, 26, a resident of Parker Street in Franklinton. Palmer is charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II drugs. Bond has not been set at this time. Palmer has two previous drug arrests in 2011 and 2012, plus other arrests for theft, burglary and possession of stolen property.
• Antwon Smith, 30, a resident of Military Road in Angie. Smith is charged with distribution of heroin and failure to appear in court. His bond has been set at $200,000. Smith has two previous drug arrests in 2010 and 2015.
• Nicole Tompkins, 20, a resident of Benny King Road in Franklinton. Tompkins is charged with distribution of a legend drug and failure to appear in court. Bond has not been set at this time. Tompkins has no previous arrests in Washington Parish.

Arrested previously as part of the same drug investigation were:

• Mark Amos IV, 19, a resident of Riverside Drive in Bogalusa, was arrested on Feb. 15. Amos is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in court. He was released on Feb. 21 after posting bond. Amos has no record of previous drug arrests in Washington Parish. After posting bond on Feb. 21, his stay in the community was short-lived. While officers were arrested another suspect, Amos ran out of the back door of the residence before he was caught by officers. He was arrested again for possession of drug paraphernalia and resistance of an officer by flight. Bond has not been set on his newest charges.
• Darius Dobson, 24, a resident of Blueberry Drive in Bogalusa, was arrested on Oct. 1, 2017. He remains in jail charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin as well as possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, II, III and IV drugs. His bond has been set at $250,000. Dobson has one previous drug arrest in February of 2017.
• Sharon Folse Durr, 39, a resident of Little Branch in Franklinton, was arrested on Feb. 22. She remains in jail charged with distribution of Schedule II and IV drugs. Her bond has been set at $75,000. She has no previous drug arrests in Washington Parish.
• Shoan Polk, 31, a resident of Marvin Magee Road in Franklinton, was arrested on Feb. 22. He remains in jail charged with distribution of Schedule II drugs. His bond has been set at $50,500. He has one previous drug arrest in 2008.
• Alvester Thomas, 39, a resident of Vessier Road in Franklinton, was arrested on Feb. 24. He remains in jail charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin, two counts of distribution of Schedule II drugs and two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs. His bond has been set at $100,000. Thomas has two previous drug arrests, one in 2007 and one in 2009.
• Jumerious Williams, 24, a resident of Redmond Street in Bogalusa, was arrested on Dec. 29, 2017. He remains in jail charged with distribution of heroin, possession of Schedule II drugs, attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, battery of the infirmed, criminal damage to property and theft. His bond has been set at $500,000. Williams has a previous drug arrest in June, 2017.

“Amazing,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “No matter how many times we warn drug dealers in Washington Parish that we are coming after them, they continue to ply their trade. Let me assure other drug dealers out there that this will not be our final roundup. We will continue to seek you out and put you in jail. You can run, but you cannot hide. You can slip around under cover of darkness, but eventually we will shine a light on you. Time is on our side and sooner or later we will catch you.
