2nd attempted murder suspect turns himself in

Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Haley said Wednesday afternooon that an attempted murder suspect turned himself in Tuesday evening, shortly after the WPSO announced to the media and public that it was looking for him.

Haley said that Damion Thompson, 26, of Wilmuth Street in Bogalusa, is currently in the Washington Parish Jail and has been charged with attempted second degree murder and contempt of court. No bond has been set at this time.

Haley said that Thompson and Shaquille Lewis, 24, of East Third Street in Bogalusa, were involved in a home invasion north of Bogalusa in which a person was shot on Wednesday, Feb. 7. The person who was shot was treated at a local hospital and released.

Lewis was arrested Thursday, Feb. 8.
