‘Coalition’ to meet Tuesday at ESM

The Washington Parish Coalition on Human Services (WPCHS) will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the ESM United Methodist Church, which is located at 510 Ave. B in Bogalusa.

Speakers at the meeting will include Taffy Morrison, Angela Lambert and Derek Covert. They will be presenting information on the Bogalusa Mayor’s Health and Fitness Council and its vision of creating a healthier community where all citizens thrive by empowering people to create healthy environments and lead healthy lives. The public is invited to attend.

The WPCHS is a social service organization with the goal of improving the quality of life for citizens of Washington Parish. The coalition provides a structure in which parents, law enforcement, religious groups, youth, media, youth-serving organizations, health care providers, local and state government, and other organizations can work together to coordinate ongoing efforts in Washington Parish.

The coalition’s vision is enhancing the psycho-social-physical well-being of all individuals of Washington Parish through their life span. The mission is to support and promote community healthy systems. The coalition is a grantee recipient of Drug-Free Communities and Louisiana Partnerships for Success.
