Patricia Ann Morris Burton, 70, of Bogalusa, passed away peacefully at Resthaven Living Center, surrounded by family and her devoted, caring aunt, Gloria Bridges, on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.

She was born on May 4, 1947, to James and Eddie Morris. Due to the death of her parents, Patricia (known as Tricia to most) was reared by her loving grandparents, Ed and Katie Brown (Mother Dear). Her life was filled with love and support from her close-knit family. She shared that same love and kindness with all the children that were enrolled in her in-home childcare program.

Patricia was a faithful member of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church and loved attending worship service and reading her Bible. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, modesty, kind spirit and love for cooking.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lonnie Burton; her parents, Eddie Lee and James Morris; and grandparents, Ed and Katie Brown.

Patricia leaves to cherish her life with loving memories: four aunts, Gloria (Melvin) Bridges of Bogalusa, Hazel Keller of Maywood, Ill., Annie Haley and Sherma Brown, both of Chicago, Ill.; and a host of other family members who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crain and Son Funeral Home, located at 809 E. Third St. in Bogalusa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church, located at 1408 N. Roosevelt St. in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Dr. James Magee, pastor. Interment will follow at Bogalusa Cemetery.
