Early Thursday morning, the Monroe Creek Missionary Baptist Church located on Monroe Creek Road north of Highway 436, was destroyed by fire, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Haley said that Washington Parish Fire Districts 4, 5, 6 and the Franklinton Fire Department responded to the fire.

The WPSO and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined, Haley said.
