Dogs attack boy, 8, in Bogalusa
An 8-year-old boy was recently attacked by two dogs and required a trip to the hospital for his injuries, according to Maj. Percy Knight of the Bogalusa Police Department.
Knight said that on Friday, the BPD responded to a call in reference to an 8-year-old male juvenile being attacked by two vicious dogs in the 800 block of Ontario Avenue in Bogalusa. Knight said that the breed of dogs were a bulldog mixture.
When officers arrived on the scene they noticed that the victim was severely injured, Knight said, noting that the victim suffered injuries to both legs and the left side of his neck.
Knight said that several neighbors had to physically force the dogs off of the victim. The dogs later attempted to attack another person in the area, and because of their vicious behavior, the dogs were killed.
Knight said that the victim was initially transported to St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. The victim was then later transferred to Children’s Hospital in New
Orleans, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
