Elnora Robinson

Mrs. Elnora Robinson was born Feb. 16, 1929, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rossie (Sophia) Weary in Tylertown, Miss. She departed this life on Jan. 23, 2018, at 88 years of age. She left this earthly life and transitioned to her period of eternal rest at the St. Tammany Hospital in Covington.

Early in life, Elnora became a member of New Zion Baptist Church of Angie, under the leadership of the late Rev. A.L. Owens, where she remained a member until her death. She served as a Sunday school teacher, missionary and usher. She was also an owner of B&R Grocery Store in Varnado.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at New Zion Baptist Church, located at 63428 Jones Creek Road in Angie, at noon, with the Rev. Linza R. Cotton, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Angie.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: four daughters, Wynett Mark of Bogalusa, Mae Otis Mark and Patricia Nichols of Varnado, and Leatrice Smith of Varnado; one son, Lionel (Amenda) Mark of Varnado; three sisters, the Rev. Altease Holmes and Minister Classie Hatcher of Chicago, Ill., Donice Mark of Beaumont, Texas; one brother, Odell Jacob Weary of Bogalusa; two granddaughters she raised as her own, Akesa Mark of Varnado and Shareca (Pastor Dennis) Smith of Crowley; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rossie Weary and Sophia Woods Wary Pigott; husbands, Otis Mark and Sheldon Robinson; two sisters, Selena (Roy) Holmes and Geraldine Mark; three brothers, L.J., L.W. and Chance Weary Sr.
