John “Bub” Allen Carlisle Jr., 93, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Franklinton. He was born on Sept. 21, 1924 in Pascagoula, Miss. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two sons, Darrell (Dianne) Carlisle of Bogalusa, and Allen (Debbie) Carlisle of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Marie Borde of Bogalusa; and also survived by seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Lee Walters Carlisle; and four sisters, Lois Applewhite, Ramona Carlisle, Wilena Wascom, and Sylvia Galloway.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 19, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
