Emily Marie Martin, a resident of Sun, La., passed away on January 1, 2018 at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru, Kenya, at the age of 21, while she was on her third mission trip. She was a 2014 graduate of Covington High School and was currently attending the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary majoring in Christian Ministry. She was also the interim Youth Minister at Hebron Baptist Church in Bush, La.

Emily is survived by her parents: Scot and Tammy Martin of Sun, La.; her brother: Joshua Martin of Sun, La.; her grandparents: Pat Jordan of Bogalusa, La., Carolyn and Duane Chanell of Bernice, La., and Fred and Denitta Martin of Deridder, La., and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and many family friends.

Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Hebron Baptist Church in Bush, La. from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continue on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at Hebron Baptist Church noon until funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rickie Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Pounds Cemetery in Bogalusa, La.
