Peggy Bickham

Ms. Peggy Joann Bickham was born on Sept. 11, 1956, to the late James Daniel Bickham and the late Josephine Nelson Bickham in New Orleans.

Peggy was raised in New Orleans, but later moved to Angie in her late teens to live with her maternal grandparents, the late William “Dank” and Nealie (Foster) Nelson. She attended Angie High School. She migrated back to New Orleans and lived there until her passing.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Yashica Bickham; four sons, Adrian, Damian, Jarral, and Eddie Bickham, all of New Orleans; eight grandchildren, Ja’Laisa Bickham, Jeron Bickham, Jerod Bickham, Kendrick Curtis, E’Laisa Bickham, Jasmine Bickham, Adriel Bickham, and Kentrell Mason, all of New Orleans; one sister, Linda Bickham of Opelousas; two brothers, William “Bubba” Nelson of Bogalusa, and Barry (Paula) Bickham Sr. of New Orleans; one aunt, Willean Nelson Weary of Angie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ricky Bickham Sr., James Bickham, and Michael Bickham; and her grandparents, William and Nealie (Foster) Nelson and William Bickham Sr. and Idella Conerly Bickham.

The memorial services will be held at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home of Bogalusa on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m., with Min. Jesse Bickham officiating.
