Thomas Vaughn

Thomas Edward Vaughn, 58, passed away Dec. 26, 2017, at Tulane Medical Center. He was a resident of Varnado. He was also known as “Confederate,” a nickname given him in school for his intelligence of history. He was also Chief Thomas E. Vaughn, who retired after 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.
He is survived by a sister, Leona V. Thomas; one brother, Vernon G. Vaughn (Stacey), of Bogalusa; a niece, Amanda C. Lankford; a nephew, Justin C. Lankford (Jessica); four great-nephews, Brennan Lorio, Brodie Lorio, Laken Vaughn and Kaden Lankford; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Valerie P. Vaughn; his parents, Harvey E. and Verda Thomas Vaughn; a nephew, Jonathan Thomas; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Thomas Jr.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 30, in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. The Rev. Patrick Magee will officiate.
