Lee ‘Poppy’ Miller

Lee “Poppy” Miller, 63, of Petrolia, Texas, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017.

Funeral services were on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m., at the Assembly of God Church in Byers, Texas, with the Rev. James Keenum, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Byers, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller was born on Aug. 30, 1954, in Bogalusa, to Elzy Miller Sr. and Ruth Eloise (Simmons) Miller. He served his country in the U.S. Army and married Janet Brock on June 21, 1974 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Miller was a retired mechanic and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Byers.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Donis Mahon and Gail Fuller.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Miller of Petrolia; two daughters, Charity Dunn of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Naomi Alejandro and husband Alex of Wichita Falls; son, Adam Miller and wife Candice of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, A.J., Zadee, Ava, Axel, Hudson, and Hank; sisters, Naomi Diaz and husband Alan of Houston, Texas, Lisa Marks and husband Jimmy of Petrolia, Michele Spigner and Robin Spigner of Byers, and Dana Guajardo and husband George of Old River Winfrey, Texas; and father-in-law, Walter Brock Sr.
