Giles Stogner Sr.

Giles Leonard Stogner Sr., 84, a resident of the Warnerton community, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Lakeview Medical Center.

He was retired as an equipment operator after 28 years with Kaiser Aluminum. Leonard operated Cadillac Christmas Tree Farm and loved working in his vegetable garden. He produced so many vegetables that he would sell them at farmers’ markets throughout the area, where he became known as the “produce man.” Leonard was a true “jack-of-all-trades” who loved taking care of the needs of his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by: wife of 55 years, Patricia Lee Stogner of Warnerton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Howard Guilott of Texas, and Connie and Ronnie Bernard of Abita Springs; four sons and daughters-in-law, Giles Leonard Stogner Jr. of Kenner, Dale and Karen Stogner of Franklinton, Ambrus Stogner of Meraux, Darren and Lisa Stogner of Covington; grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Stacey, Lyndell, Lauren, Brian, D.J., Derek, Payton, A.J., Alex, Amber, Darren Jr., Dylan, Devin, Dustin, Joshua, Miranda, Gabrielle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rueben Stogner of Warnerton, Charles Stogner of Franklinton, William Stogner of Chalmette, Wallace Stogner of Franklinton; 20 great-grandchildren; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Berkley Stogner and Eva Owens Stogner Dillon; brothers, Clinton Stogner, Daniel Stogner; a young sister, Viola Stogner; grandson, Troy Stogner; and granddaughter, Rachelle Stogner.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tony Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Seal Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandsons Ryan Guilott, Brian Taylor, Dale Stogner Jr., Darren Stogner Jr., Joshua Bernard, A.J. Stogner, Derek Stogner and Alex Stogner.
