Stamper Scott and Hope McGinn are the new MCCA XXXVIII King and Queen.
Stamper Scott is a lifelong resident of Bogalusa. He is married to his beautiful wife of 15 years, Amber Scott, and he has four children, Taylor, Tyler, Chandler, and Anabeth Scott. All of them have been guards and pages for MCCA in previous years. Together, the Scotts own a local business, Scott Construction and Welding, LLC.
Stamper Scott is a charter member in MCCA’s Den of X-Caliber for the past 13 years, and has served as a lieutenant. He has also served as a MCCA Duke for two previous Mardi Gras seasons.
Scott said that he has thoroughly enjoyed building relationships with the Dukes and their families throughout past Mardi Gras. He was also very excited to be picked for King and is thrilled to kick off the new season. Scott and McGinn have been friends for many years and are just like family. Scott said he has always enjoyed Mardi Gras and had joked about being King one day with his precious Queen, Hope McGinn.
McGinn is also a lifelong resident of Bogalusa. She is married to Charley McGinn of D’Iberville, Miss. Together, they have three children, McKenzie (Hunter) Thomas, Jake Williams, and Corblin McGinn. McKenzie and Jake have previously been maid, guard and pages. Corblin is a present guard. Hope McGinn is also the owner of a local business, Hope for Cash.
McGinn was a charter member for The Ladies of Venus and was involved with the group for years, and was also a member of the Ladies of Vogue.
She said she was very surprised and had no idea she would be asked so soon, but is also very excited to be Scott’s Queen.
“Thank you so much for really choosing me,” McGinn said. “I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
Scott would like to give a special thanks to Captain Don Spears, Mr. Cook Byrd, Mr. Joey Melancon, and Mr. Jan Adams. Both Scott and McGinn wish a special thank you to their families and friends for all of the help, love, and support.
