Washington Parish Fire District No. 5 in Angie will treat the village to its first Christmas parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. Contact Kayla at 516-4491, or Angela at 516-2385, to see if there is room for any more in the parade. The entry fee is just $5, and people may ride in floats, ATVs, golf carts, cars, trucks, and on motorcycles.

Shortly after that, at 11 a.m., American Legion Post 24 will host a Ponemah Wreath Ceremony during which volunteers will place a wreath at every veteran’s gravesite in the demetery. The total is approximately 325 wreaths, and everyone is invited to attend.

The wreaths cost $20, and are purchased with donations. Anyone who wants to contribute should call Mike Henley at 515-0184, Bobby Latino at 516-0055, or Donald Kuhn at 516-9927.

The Legion is also offering the public a chance to buy a wreath for their deceased family member and veterans grave. Anyone who is interested in that should call one of the above numbers to make arrangements.
