Hester J. Hartfield, 74, a resident of Angie, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was born in Bogalusa on May 24, 1943, to Manson N. Jenkins and Edith Holden Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard Hartfield of Angie; two daughters, Tina Anderson of Fresno, Texas, and Elvora (Robert) Hunt of Franklinton; two sons, James (Darla) Hartfield of Bogalusa, and Howard Hartfield Jr. of Varnado; and a sister, Lolie King of Varnado. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manson N. Jenkins and Edith Holden Jenkins; and a brother, Hardy Jenkins.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 10, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Spencer Cemetery.
