Rosie Lee Smith

Rosie Lee Smith was born Aug. 23, 1943, to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. (Mary Morris) Smith in Angie. She departed this life on Dec. 1, 2017, at 74 years of age. She left this earthly life and transitioned to her period of eternal rest at her residence.

Rosie was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School enrollment secretary, choir member and on the usher board, until her health failed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 62007 Highway 438 in Angie, with the Rev. Sidney Burns Jr., pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dillon Cemetery in Angie.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Jerry May Jr. of Angie, Fredy (Denise) May of Loranger, and Donald May of Bogalusa; god-daughter, La’Whitney Abrams of Angie; a step-granddaughter, Pearl Bell of Loranger; an aunt, Gertrude Graves of Angie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. (Mary Morris) Smith and a brother; Eugene Smith Sr.
