A Bogalusa man was arrested Monday, after apparently throwing drugs out of his window while being pursued by the police, according to Maj. Percy Knight of the Bogalusa Police Department.

Knight said that on Monday at 11 a.m., BPD Patrolman Josh Oalmann was traveling behind a vehicle on West 8th Street and could not read the license plate, due to it being covered up. The vehicle turned on Avenue B and Oalmann attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Knight said that Oalmann observed the driver lean over and throw several objects out of the front passenger window, and then continue driving. After a short distance, the driver pulled over and stopped the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Brandon Thomas, 20, of Bogalusa. Knight said that officers went to the area where the Thomas threw the objects out of the window and located three white pills — identified as Buprenorphine Hydrochloride and Naloxone Hydrochloride.

Thomas was placed under arrest and and booked on the charges of possession of Schedule III narcotics, obstruction of justice, improper equipment (display of license plate) and a probation/parole hold.
