Marjory B. Herrington, 83, a resident of Hattiesburg, Miss., and a former resident of Bogalusa, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Provision Living in Hattiesburg.
She was a member of Hardy Street Baptist Church and the Faith Bible Fellowship Class in Hattiesburg. The deceased was born in Bogalusa and remained a resident there for 63 years, at which time she and her husband Earl (now deceased) moved to Hattiesburg.
While a resident of Bogalusa, she was an active member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church, serving as a member of the church choir, children’s choir director, teacher, and committee member. She also served as financial secretary for several years.
The deceased is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. and Nan Herrington of Pine; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Lindy Tolar of Hattiesburg; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Herrington; father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Bertoniere; three sisters, Catherine B. Ritchie, Marion B. Fortenberry, and Gloria B. Talley; and two brothers, George W. Bertoniere Jr. and Roland A. Bertoniere; and one granddaughter, Jodi Herrington.
Visitation was at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, on Friday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with funeral services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Garden of Peace in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa. The Rev. Darryl Fortenberry officiated.
