James David Jones, 50, passed away Nov. 25, 2017, in Jackson, Miss.

Visitation was 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, and again at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Miss. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Chancellor Chapel, with interment following at 3:30 p.m. in the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogalusa. Officiating the services for David were Bro. Pete Underwood.

David was born Oct. 5, 1967. He spent most of his youth as a resident of Bogalusa, where he a was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as superintendent with Sunbelt Construction Company, where he had worked for over 22 years. He loved cooking and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed doing things for others and was a devoted family man.

He leaves behind parents, Coy and Elaine Jones of Bogalusa; two brothers and their wives, Leroy and Scooter Jones of Bogalusa, and Donald and Stephanie Jones of Isabel. Also mourning his loss are his children, his son, Jordan Matthew Jones of Jackson and his daughter Kaitlyn Blair Jones, also of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Boyd Jones and Grace Kuhn Jones, Sidney T. Morel, and Verna Peterson Morel; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
