Alex Keith Magee, 30, a resident of Wilson Road in Franklinton, is in the Washington Parish Jail, charged with the October burglary of a residence on Jamieson Creek Road, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Haley said that the homeowner had a home security camera system that captured the burglary as it occurred and the burglar caught on video was identified as Magee.
On Nov. 22, Magee was located and arrested. He remains in the Washington Parish Jail charged with burglary, theft of a dirt bike and attempted theft of a motorcycle. No bond has been set for Magee who has been in the jail three previous times, including a 2007 burglary. Magee is a suspect in other related offenses.
“Another burglar off of our streets and into our jail,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “That is good. I compliment the homeowner for having a video security system. That is a great tool for any homeowner and helps to quickly identify thieves and others who would are up to no good.”
