The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped from a work assignment Friday night. The inmate, Timothy John Williams, 30, is a white male who is six feet one inch tall and bald. He sometimes goes by his street name of Kojak. The last known address for Williams is 430 Huron Avenue in Bogalusa.

Williams was being held on a $3,500 bond for a theft charge and was assigned to clean and perform other chores in and around the jail. Sometime during the night he was able to escape detection and walk away from the jail.

Although Williams was jailed on a non-violent offense, anyone who encounters him should use caution. Any person who knows a possible location for Williams is asked to contact the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 839-3434. It is not necessary to reveal your identity.

Sheriff Randy Seal stated, “All of the details of this escape are not known at this time, but we are reviewing the entire time frame beginning with just prior to noticing that he was missing.   Our search for him extends throughout Washington Parish and beyond.   He is listed on the national criminal justice database, so any arrest anywhere in the United States will alert arresting officers that he is wanted for escape. At this time, our efforts are focused on locating Williams and we will not cease searching for him until he is found. If anyone has contact with Williams, please encourage him to call and turn himself in. That certainly would be the easiest route for him to take at this time.”
