Johnny A. Leos

Johnny A. Leos, 73, a resident of Bogalusa, born Jan. 15, 1944, in Monroe, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Johnny joined the Navy right out of high school. After the Navy, Johnny met and married Pauline Seal Leos of Bogalusa. He spent 28 years serving with the New Orleans Fire Department, where he retired as a captain. Johnny had many accomplishments in his life. His publications on aerial ladders are used by many around the country for training. From teaching at LSU Fire Training Academy to his final calling as the fire chief for St. Tammany Fire District No. 11, he was instrumental in educating firefighters in all surrounding areas. Anyone who came in contact with Johnny knew of his love of music and firefighting. He will truly be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pauline Seal Leos of Bogalusa; four sons, Brandon (Misti) Leos, and Toby (Nickie) Leos, both of Bogalusa, Donald Leos and Johnny Leos of California; four grandchildren, Victoria Leos, Elizabeth Leos, Addison Leos and Jackson Leos, all of Bogalusa; and also survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tom Leos; his mother, Eda Mae Miller; and a brother, Tommy Leos.
Visitation will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, located at 208 Georgia Ave. in Bogalusa, on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., with Father LeBaron Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery.
