Samuel Harry “Bud” Lawrence Jr., 34, a resident of Varnado, died Sunday morning, Nov. 12, 2017, at his home.

He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan that also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors. Bud loved to play his guitar and listen to his favorite music. He was an electrician that worked for different companies in the area. Bud cared deeply for his fiancé Holly Smith and adored his young son Elijah.

He is also Survived by: mother and step-father, Angela and Terry Wascom of Varnado; father and step-mother, Samuel Lawrence Sr. and Janice Lawrence of Caladonia, Miss.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Shirley Lawrence of Katy, Texas, and Rodney and Rebekah Lawrence of Columbus, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Keira, Piper, Cade, Aria, Ethan and Hannah; grandmothers, Marjorie Simmons of Varnado, and Rhoda Lawrence of Alabama; uncles and aunts, Jessie and April Carroll of Bogalusa, Timothy and Tina Lawrence of Butler, Ala., Titus and Genise Lawrence of Pine, Sharon and Dewayne Owen of Caladonia, Miss., Rebekah Barham of Alabama, and Fredrick and Sheila Lawrence of Varnado; step-sister, Kayla Wascom of Poplarville, Miss.; step-brother, Jonathan Wascom of Panama City, Fla.; and also numerous cousins, other step-siblings and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Carroll and Rev. Roy Lawrence Jr.; great-grandparents, Gracie King, Roy Lawrence Sr. and Elvie Lawrence; and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 17, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Wesley Quave officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be David “D.J.” Creel Jr., Josh Singletary, Brian Bishop, Curtis Owen Jr., Charles Arnt, Thomas Nolan, Anthony Pruit and Adam Fortune.
