Edward William Sharp Sr., 75, born on Aug. 17, 1942, in Sun, a resident of Franklinton for 11 years, passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at his residence in Franklinton.

He worked for W. R. Core Construction and Champagne Beverage Co., and retired in 1985. He married Betty Joyce Horner Sharp in 1963.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Celia Sharp; a brother, Johnnie Sharp Jr.; and a grandson, Timothy Corey Komorowski.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Horner Sharp; children, Sheila Sharp, Edward Sharp Jr. (Samantha), Patricia Sharp Toney (Greg) and Justin Sharp (Ariel); adopted children, Tiffany Walgamotte (Steven) and Crystal Smith (John Wayne); 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Schilling; three brothers, Albert Sharp Sr., David Sharp Sr., and Roy Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Nobles Cemetery.
