Power pole falls near courthouse

- A utility pole collapsed in downtown Franklinton on Tuesday afternoon, falling on a vehicle and closing several streets in the city for approximately six hours.
A utility pole collapsed and several power lines went down Tuesday afternoon in Franklinton, in the area around the Washington Parish Courthouse.
According to information from Franklinton Police Department officials, the damaged pole fell on a vehicle and caused the area around the collapse to remain closed for several hours. Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative and AT&T responded to remove and replace the collapsed pole and lines.
The area around Cleveland Street and Washington Street was closed for approximately six hours.
