Freddie Ray Millis

Freddie Ray Millis of St. Clair, Mo., departed this life at his home surrounded by family, on Oct. 30, 2017, having reached the age of 58.
Fred was born in Bogalusa on April 23, 1959, the son of Charles and Bessie Sorensen Millis. On Oct. 14, 1989, he was united in marriage to Hope Northcutt and three children came to this blessed union.
Fred is survived by his wife, Hope Millis; his children, Chelsey Pogue and husband Eric, and Mason and Morgan Millis; by his grandchildren, Lineah and Sawyer Pogue; by his parents, Bessie Sorensen Carter and Charles Millis and stepmother Judy Millis; by his parents-in-law, Bud and Frankie Northcutt; by his sister, Tena Creel, Charlene Ward, and Robin and Darren Magee; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his stepfather, B.J. Carter; maternal grandparents, Fred and Tenia Sorensen; and his paternal grandparents, Claud and Nola Millis.
Fred was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith. Fred served his country in the U.S. Navy, entering Jan. 21, 1977, and receiving his honorable discharge on July 28, 1878.
He was a carpenter by trade. His most recent job was working as a designer. Fred was proud to have received his Associate’s Degree in Business in 2014. He was an outdoorsman at heart. Fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes with his sons. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
