The Bogalusa City Court will hold a one-week “Warrant Amnesty Program” for persons with outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear.

From Monday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 10, the court will hold a forgiveness program for individuals with outstanding bench warrants. During this period, the court will allow individuals with outstanding bench warrants for their failure to appear and comply with a subpoena or summons, to present themselves to the City Court between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., to receive a new hearing date and clear any bench warrants related to a prior failure to appear.

No person who appears at the City Court for an Amnesty Day will be jailed for non-payment or for a warrant for failing to appear. The court will provide each person with a new court date and an opportunity to pay his or her fine and court costs.

Those who are unsure about whether or not they have a current warrant for failure to appear can call the clerk’s office at 985-732-6204.

Payment of fines and court costs can be made by cash, money order, or cashier’s check, at the Clerk of Court’s window. No personal checks or debit/credit cards will be accepted.

All people with bench warrants are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the Court’s limited amnesty offer. The Bogalusa City Court is located at 202 Arkansas Ave.
