Bogalusa High School Project Grad is asking families to join them in riding “Bikes For a Cure,” on Saturday, Oct. 28.

“Let’s light up the city together, as a family,” said Dana Walker, one of the organizers.

She added that everyone should wear a pink shirt in recognition of Cancer Awareness Month.

Water and snacks will be provided, and prizes will be awarded to such things as the most colorful bike and the most creative bike.

The organizers are asking all riders to meet at Magnolia Garden parking lot for 5:45 p.m. The ride will start at 6 p.m. The organizers said the child-friendly route goes up Marshall Richardson, Avenue F, behind the school, Columbia Street back to Magnolia Garden.

The adult donation is $10 per biker, and parents must ride next to their children who are under age 12. All children ride for $5.

Organizer Tanika Keys-Mingo and Project Grad parents said the donation is for the BHS senior class’s Project Grad.
