Dorothy Nastasi

Dorothy Lucille Nastasi passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, in Hammond, at the age of 94. She was born on Saturday, Nov. 11, 1922, in Sicely Island, to the late Gertrude Stringer Passman and W.D. Passman. She was a resident of Hammond. Dorothy was also a waitress for over 25 years at Landry’s Seafood in Bogalusa.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Kathy Nastasi Powell and Tank, and Susan Nastasi McDaniel and Cliff; grandchildren, Anthony Nastasi (Beth), Doug Nastasi Sr. (Jessica), Carlyn Nastasi, Kiley Nastasi, Henry Powell Jr. (Wende), Angel Huszar (Joe), Chad Harris (Karen), Jason Harris (Lori), and Wendy Sistrunk (Brian); daughter-in-law, Alva Nastasi; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Stringer Passman; father, W.D. Passman; husband, Henry Nastasi; son, Henry Hank Butch Nastasi; siblings, Sigrest Passman, Margie Cokus, and Marie Sumrall; and grandchild, Michael Nastasi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Woodland Park Baptist Church, located at 1909 J.W. Davis Drive in Hammond, on Friday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Hook Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1 Sweetwater Place in Sandy Hook, Miss.
