The Washington Parish Fair, which regularly attracts thousands of people to the normally sleepy town of Franklinton, will be celebrated with a fair flag raising at Bogalusa City Hall today at 10 a.m.

The 106th annual fair season will be rung in by the Bogalusa High School band and Paper Dolls, under the direction of Chad Harry, as well as by a performance by the Northshore Charter School cheerleaders.

The dignitaries in attendance will include Mayor Wendy Perrette and other city officials; Mike Breland; Fair Board and Committee chairs; other elected officials; and this year’s Fair Honoree, Dianne Applewhite.

Fair Queen Lexie Hebert will be there, and the BHS JROTC and drill team, under the direction of Jack Rogers, will perform. Washington Parish Fair President Jackie Boone will act as emcee.
