Oscar L. Bedwell, 71, a resident of Isabel, passed away on Sept. 29, 2017, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was born on May 13, 1946, in Washington Parish. He lived and worked in Baton Rouge until retirement.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Evelyn Corkern of Plainview, Frank Doyelas Bedwell (Dolly) of Crossroads, Miss., Gillas Faye Manton of Erwinville, Otis Bedwell (Louise) of Coyell, Thomas Bedwell (Carole) of Port Vincent, Ramona Bedwell of Isabel, and Phillipp Bedwell (Pam) of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Erline Bedwell; his brother, William Bedwell; and his nephew, Charles Neill.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 1, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, beginning at noon and continued until the service time of 2 p.m. The Rev. Scott Breland officiated and the interment was held at Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery.
